Wedding Guide
Thanks for booking - I am so excited to be capturing your wedding day!
On the day I will be working to provide you with the best possible experience, so you can relax knowing that you are in safe hands.
I aim to capture everything as it happens, so you won’t be overly posed or managed for me to photograph every step of the day. I might make a few small suggestions on where to stand if the lighting is poor, but I try to ensure that I am very much part of your wedding rather than taking control of it.
As your day progresses, I will be on hand to offer any help and support with and without the camera, whilst also providing a visual record of everything that happens.
Ultimately, I want to help you have the best day and the day you want to look back on, over and over again.
Step One - You have secured your photographer
Congratulations! But I’m here to help with much more than that - so if you are looking for supplier recommendations or simply need some advice about anything on the day, I’m on hand
to offer some help or to bounce ideas off.
Thinking of bringing some colour with smoke grenades or adding sparklers to your evening? I can help you decide on some of the pro’s and con’s of this and help you weigh up if they are
right for your wedding.
Step Two - Engagement Sessions
If your package includes this, then we can get planning to meet and take some photos.
These sessions give you the opportunity to experience the way I work and to overcome any of the nerves or worries you might have about having your photograph taken. If you have a place in mind then let me know or if you need some suggestions we can chat about this too.
Step Three - Wedding Details Form
Around 3 months before your wedding date, I will send over a form for you to complete. It’s straight forward, but does help me to build up some key information and time line for your day.
Importantly in the form, it does have space for group portraits, so it’s useful to add names of those guests you would like formal photographs of on the day. Once I have this I will build a plan and share this with you to confirm everything.
Step Four - One week to go
I will make myself available to have a call with you to make sure that I have everything from you in terms of timings and details. It’s useful to have a quick run through of your day one last time, just to avoid any surprises.
Now, all that’s really left to do is capture you getting married!
Step Five - Your Wedding Day!
This is it - finally your day is here and I will be so excited to cover it for you. It’s time for you to relax and enjoy the day, take a moment to spend with each other at points during the day and revel in the fact that this is YOUR wedding day.
Step Six - Your Final Package.
Within a week of your incredible day, you will have a small preview gallery to keep you going whilst you wait for the final edits.
8-12 weeks later you should get a delivery from me containing your presentation package, containing your digital files on a USB, prints as well as a link to your online gallery.
Engagement Sessions
As I might have already mentioned, this is the perfect chance for us to meet and for you to get
a feel for how I work - it’s a great preview into what you’ll experience on the day.
That said, it’s also a opportunity to relax and enjoy time together in a far more casual setting, to forget the daily routine and to get excited together about your wedding day.
I’ve had couples use images from these sessions on their wedding invitations or around the venue on the wedding day, and very often they’ll be the first photos anyone else has taken of you both.
The resulting images are shared with you in an online gallery and are yours to download and use however you wish. It also gives you chance to get familiar with the online system as this is the same way your final gallery will be shared too.
Time and Location
I find that spending between 1 and 2 hours together gives us enough time to catch up, for you to shake off any nerves and really enjoy the time we spend together. Normally I’d suggest that we meet up a couple of hours before sunset to make the most of the softer light and perhaps even get a bit of extra drama as the sky catches fire.
Locations can be to suit you, it might be a local park, a place you got engaged or somewhere you’ve always wanted to visit - but don’t worry, if you haven’t got anything in mind I can usually make some suggestions!
Clothing
First of all, wear something you feel comfortable in; there’s absolutely no point in getting dressed in something super-formal if you normally wear jeans and a t-shirt. I want you to feel like yourself and it will show on camera.
Neutral colours always work well and depending on weather, bringing a jacket that can be taken off to helps mix things up a bit.
If you are unsure what would work, just ask!

FAQ
How does this all work?
To get the ball rolling, head over to my contact page and complete the enquiry form. If you can include the wedding date and location and then as much information as you want to share at this point, you will get a reply within 24 hours.
We’re unsure which package to go for?
Don’t worry, I can talk with you to discuss your options and which I feel might serve you best - it’s not about upselling!
You might be planning a small wedding or the duration you want to be covered is in between the packages listed - let’s talk and come up with the perfect solution for you.
How do we book with you?
Simple, once you have contacted me and we’ve established if I am available, I ask for a deposit of £250 to secure the date. You’ll get confirmation and details of the remaining balance.
When do we pay the balance?
I try to be as accommodating as possible - I know there are a lot of suppliers to satisfy, so I won’t hassle you too much. All I ask is that the final balance is settled 14 days before the date.
Should we add a second photographer?
I personally think it’s a great decision - that second photographer opens up more options and coverage, both sides of the morning preparation can be captured adding variety with several angles of events like your ceremony and first dance, it means we can capture more candids and get more natural reactions from all of your guests. Sometimes, it’s not possible to do that all with just one person behind the camera.
What gets delivered after our wedding?
Within a week of your wedding you’ll receive a link to a preview gallery, so that you don’t have to wait too long to get a taste of what’s been covered. Then, schedule permitting, I aim to deliver my final package to you within 8-12 weeks. I remain transparent and contactable throughout, so if you want to get an update anytime, you only have to ask.
In the final package you get a personalised USB containing your high resolution and social media friendly size images, a slideshow of the whole wedding from start to finish, a set of 6 x 4 prints (usually around 50) and some goodies - all wrapped up inside your own personalised presentation box. You’ll also then be sent a link to the full gallery online to share with friends and family, including a PIN code for them to download files.
Do you travel?
Yes, I love capturing weddings all over the country! Getting the chance to visit new venues and couples is something I want to keep doing more of - and my package prices aren’t location dependent, so the prices above include my travel.
What’s an engagement session?
Following booking confirmation, we can arrange a suitable date for us to meet and chat. It gives me a chance to get to hear all about your plans. In return, we get the opportunity to take some photographs of you in a more relaxed and casual manner. This way you are already comfortable in front of the camera when your big day arrives!
Engagement sessions can take place anytime to suit you; more typically I try to do them at a different time of year to your wedding to give you images during a different season. I’m really easy going though, so if you have a location and time in mind, I’m all yours!
An engagement session is included as part of the Complete Coverage package, but if you would like to add this to the Full or Essential packages you can for an extra fee of £250.
Do you need feeding on the day?
I try not to ask too much of my couples, after all - it’s about me providing a service for you. One thing I try and request however, is that I can be allocated some food - I’m not expecting to join your guests at a table and eat a full 3-course meal, but usually if you mention something to the caterers they can put something aside.
Can we request some group photos?
Of course, it’s your day - I will happily schedule time for these to be done during the day. The only things to note are these groups can take a chunk of time out of your day, so for that reason, I usually suggest no more than 8 groups. I usually start with one large group shot of everyone then scale down until it’s just parents or siblings. Don’t worry if you forget anyone, we have the rest of the day to grab your mates from work for that group photo and later in the day can be a lot of fun!
Can you help with other suppliers?
Absolutely! The beauty of this industry is that we are all here to help each other - it’s kinda unique, so we are all trying to support each others’ success stories. If you need a videographer or florist, caterer or band, just ask - having shot a lot of weddings now, I’ve build up some wonderful contacts all around the country and I can at least steer you in the right direction.
Family Sessions
Because life can move pretty fast, it’s important to give yourself some time to get some great shots, which is why I try and allow a couple of hours to spend with you and your loved ones, giving you the chance to relax and have fun.
We’d arrange a date and time to suit you, then it’s all about enjoying the time together - following our shoot, you will receive access to a gallery of 100 images (minimum), which you can view, share, download and keep. There’s no watermarking or limit to their use - they are your photos!
(USB can be arranged if online galleries aren’t preferred)
