Emily & Ross - White Syke Fields, North Yorkshire
What a wedding this one was - so much fun!!
Emily and Ross were the most amazing couple to capture and their day truly had a bit of everything. From laid back morning preparation before their church wedding in glorious sunshine and then the most colourful and fun reception which had everyone celebrating in style.
Emily and the girls brought all the energy and colour with the most amazing selection of dresses, with Ross and the boys looking super dapper in their blue suits too.
Following the morning preparation at the nearby Sandburn Hall, we all headed over to St Mary’s Church in Sand Hutton for a gorgeous ceremony where the couple officially became husband and wife. Then it was time to celebrate.
White Syke Fields has rocketed up my list to become one of my favourite venues, the setting is perfect for everything! The main barns are huge and looked stunning when styled and there’s so much to see and do there. As you enter the grounds of the venue, you have the option to turn left and explore the vast woodland which we did with the couple before any of the guests had managed to arrive. With the tall pines and lush ferns, the couple looked incredible - Emily and Ross had a moment of quiet and calm to take in just what had just happened and also to have a minute together to revel in their newlywed status. Then it was time top rejoin their guests and celebrate.
They were greeted with drinks and a huge cheer and the parted started, during the drinks reception we managed to capture the formal (and informal) group photos and watch on as guests enjoyed playing the garden games and basking in the summer sun. The guests then took their seats and enjoyed reading their personal messages that the couple had written on each photo at their place-setting. They welcomed the newlyweds to give speeches and the energy and joy in the room was electric - it was for the whole day really, providing one of the most exciting weddings to photograph for me too.
The rest of the day was so amazing - with space hopping, cocktail making and a whole heap of other activities, we took Emily and Ross away just before sunset for some more couple portraits and then finished with their bridal party joining them for a Champagne spray and some laughs before the evening exploded into a feast of colour and energy. The dance floor was packed and so animated and you couldn’t help but smile and join in - the only shame was I had to leave at some stage!
Overall, this was one of my favourite weddings I have ever done, not just for the couple, venue and all of the events that took place, but the team I worked with on the day were also a dream and it made for the perfect summer-time wedding.
A huge congratulations to Emily & Ross!
