I recently signed up to a project on a website called Fearless and Framed (Link here). Its a wonderful site, filled with ideas and inspiration - hence the reason I am mentioning it!
I decided that for the upcoming project I would try documenting my morning routine; from waking up, feeding and walking the dog, getting ready for work and having a cuppa. Its easy to be so into the routine that you just drift through each day as if it didn't matter, but taking the time to photograph and document the start to my day has made me realise that there is more to it than just rolling out of bed and into the car.
Waking each day it usually takes my eyes a few minutes to warm up, as my eyesight is pretty poor the earliest moments of the day are the most forgettable, I can't see a thing! After finding my glasses, turning off the alarm and opening the curtains its time to let Ferris, my dog, out. Ferris is always patiently waiting on the landing outside the bedroom door and following a quick bathroom break for myself, we head downstairs to let him out of the garden and then get him fed.
Then its onto the most important job of the morning - making the tea! Once the tea is made I sit with Ferris for a bit, then head up to shower and get changed ready for the day ahead. I usually make a couple of trips up and down the stairs as I've usually forgotten to do something!
Once refreshed I take Ferris for a walk, we are so lucky to live in such a wonderful location, one way is a country lane with a farm and fields surrounding, the other leads to the village and the canal and then only a 2 minute drive we can be in the forest. Unfortunately, as I was photographing, this mornings walk was a quick one and we only went to the farm and back.
Either way I was surprised how much I fit in during the first 90 minutes of my day!
